Frequently asked questions

How long does setup take?
A wizard walks you through school year, lesson times, subjects and your first class in six steps – that fits into a free period. If you would rather look around first, start with demo data and you have a fully populated application in front of you straight away.
Can I start in the middle of the school year?
Yes. You set up the current school year and enter your timetable from today onwards. Past grades and observations can be added later, but they do not have to be – Teacher's Desk is useful from your very next lesson.
Can I import my class lists?
Yes. You copy your learners' details out of Excel or a comparable spreadsheet and paste them straight in, so there is no need to type every name by hand.
Do I have to enter my data more than once?
No. What you maintain once (for example the timetable) automatically appears wherever it is needed – in the calendar and in the daily “Today” view.
Does Teacher's Desk help with school reports?
Yes. From your assessments and their weighting, Teacher's Desk calculates report grade suggestions that you can review, adjust and export. You set the grading system, the rounding and the weighting of the two semesters yourself.
What happens to my content at the end of the school year?
Your library stays. Materials, schemes of work, templates and notes are not tied to a school year and are ready again next year. All you do is set up the new school year with its terms.
What happens to my data when I change school?
Your teaching library stays yours. Your personal data is exportable at any time and tied to your licence – not to a single school.
Does Teacher's Desk work without internet?
Yes. Teacher's Desk is local-first and offline-capable. As soon as a connection is available again, everything syncs automatically.
Which devices does Teacher's Desk run on?
On smartphone, tablet and desktop browser. As a progressive web app it can be installed on the home screen and adapts automatically to your device.
What happens if I edit the same note on two devices?
The changes are merged automatically and conflict-free (AutoMerge) – nothing gets lost.
Can the provider see my learners' data?
No. Your content is stored end-to-end encrypted; the server operator has no access to plaintext.
Can I restore earlier versions?
Thanks to append-only storage, earlier states of notes, materials and other content are preserved and viewable. If needed, data can also be deleted permanently.
How does licensing work?
Teacher's Desk is part of MindooDB Cloud: 7.99 € per month or 79.99 € per year (incl. VAT). For teams there are yearly packages from 349.99 € for 5 users; larger packages for 10, 15, 20 teachers and more on request. That includes every Haven app, unlimited devices and unlimited tenants. Self-hosting apps is free (without data backup by us).
What happens if I end my subscription?
Your data already lives locally on your devices and stays readable there. The data checkout exports all of your content into readable files at any time. What you would lose is syncing between your devices – and you are free to self-host the apps at no cost.
Which languages is Teacher's Desk available in?
The app is available in eight languages: German, English, French, Spanish, Dutch, Italian, Polish and Norwegian.
Which countries and grading systems are supported?
Teacher's Desk includes country profiles and grading-system presets for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland, Norway and the UK/GCSE. The presets help you get started and can be adapted to your school.
